AHMAD BAHRAWI
Born on May 17, 1980, in Kampung Islam Kepaon, Denpasar, Bali, he earned a bachelor’s degree in economics from Kartanegara University in 2003. He then pursued further studies, obtaining a Master of Commerce and Administration from the University of Indonesia in 2006, followed by a second master’s degree from École Nationale de l’Aviation Civile (ENAC), France, in 2018.
He began his career at the Indonesian Ministry of Transportation in 2001 and has since held various strategic positions related to education and training in the field of air transportation. His previous roles include Head of the Education Program Division at the Human Resources Development Center for Air Transportation (PPSDMPU), Head of the Planning and Finance Subdivision, and Director of the Aviation Engineering and Safety Academy (ATKP) in Makassar.
In 2019, he was appointed Director of Politeknik Penerbangan Makassar, and since 2024, he has served as Director of Politeknik Penerbangan Surabaya. His leadership has been recognized for fostering educational innovation, driving digital transformation, and strengthening governance within aviation vocational institutions.
As a civil servant committed to continuous personal and professional growth, he has completed more than 50 national and international training programs in aviation safety, educational management, coaching and mentoring, and institutional reform. His international training experiences include programs in the United States, Japan, the Netherlands, Switzerland, China, Singapore, and the United Arab Emirates.
In addition to his academic role as a lecturer, he has received numerous awards for his service as a state civil servant, including the Satyalancana Karya Satya medals for 10 years (2011) and 20 years (2021), awarded by the President of the Republic of Indonesia. He has also been an active member of the Indonesia Air Traffic Controllers Association (IATCA) since 2003.
With his international educational background, extensive managerial experience, and strong commitment to advancing human resources in the transportation sector, he is regarded as a key figure in the development of aviation vocational education in Indonesia.
